We’d love you to host your own tea party and invite friends, family and colleagues along to mark the 71st birthday of the NHS – and raise vital funds for us in the process!
The humble cup of tea has a long and proud association with the NHS. Originally served to patients in traditional fine cups with saucers and side spoon, tea was considered an important aspect of patient satisfaction and recovery.
Tea brings us together and is a symbol of comfort and care.
So, on or around 5 July 2019 (whichever day suits you best), we're calling on the local community to get friends, family or colleagues together for a tea party to celebrate the NHS' birthday and raise vital funds to help transform lives.
Proceeds will help our mission of making sure that everyone has the ability to respond in an emergency, from part-funding community defibrillators to providing free life-saving training.
Tea party resources to get you started including posters and invitations can be downloaded too with our charity logo on them. You can also download bunting and suggested menus from the NHS Big Tea website.
Don’t forget to tell us when you are holding your Big Tea event by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and please send us photos from the day and share on social media making sure you tag @yas_charity and use the hashtag #NHSBigTea.
